Discussion on class 12 and SSE exam options started

May 16, Kathmandu. Discussion has started on the alternative of Class 12 and Secondary Education Examination SEE examination which has been postponed due to Covid-19.

The task force formed by the National Examination Board under the chairmanship of Director General of the Department of Education Vaikuntha Prasad Aryal has started discussions with the stakeholders on the issue. Chairman of the Examination Board, Professor Doctor Chandramani Poudel, informed that the task force has started discussions on the modality of conducting the examination.

He said, “The working group has started discussions with the stakeholders on how to conduct the suspended examination or how to adopt the assessment method. Let’s see what the alternative will be from the discussion and study.” According to him, the task force is currently studying the methods adopted for the examination and assessment of the disaster situation in different countries. Opinions and suggestions from teachers, parents, educationists and other stakeholders have also been collected.

The Board of Examinations had postponed the SEE and Class-12 examinations last Monday due to the rapid rise in corona infection rate. The board had made public the schedule to conduct SEE from May 27 and class 12 from June 9.
